OUR SECOND WEEK

MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY

Spent most of these days in bed.

Eventually went to doctors on Tuesday, had tests and stuff done. So expensive here, well on our local wage it is – praying my travel insurance will cover it.

They sent me home and made an appointment for specialist the next day.

Wednesday the specialist did more tests and put me on antibiotics etc.

I have some sort of infection and few other things. Some that have still been going on for a few months but some that have come since we got here. The doctor was lovely.

Praying I start to feel better.

We also went to the immigration office to learn about becoming a citizen.... mmmm.... more on that another time J

THURSDAY

MY BIRTHDAY

I didn’t have overly high hopes for my birthday as Rob had to be at an internship info day from 8am till about 6pm.

And because everyone would be at work, and they don’t really celebrate birthdays here, my plan was to stay in bed and read or watch a movie on computer and open my present from my parents.

I still wasn’t well so thought i was spend all day resting.

When 7.30am came and went and Rob hadn’t left I asked him why and he said he’d go later.

He popped out later and I stayed in bed.
He came back with a picked flower and some chocolate.

He had walked to the only place around that sells Cadbury top deck chocolate and bunches of flowers but they weren’t opened so he was pretty disappointed but I wasn’t.
He’s such a precious soul!

I said you better go and He said – do you think i’m leaving you before we have breakfast together.

Breakfasts here can often be very oiley – and I had said all I wanted was bread and bananas and African tea.

And he arranged that and we had it in bed.

Was a perfect morning – banana on bread and tea.

He spoke some beautiful words over me before he left around 10.30am.

I thought he wouldn’t be back till 6pm but at 2.30pm he walked in – the only thing i had done was wash my hair and wash some clothes and spoken to family and rested.

He said he couldn’t bare to be away from me any longer, particularly on my birthday.

So we enjoyed relaxing all afternoon ( as I am still not well ) and watched some episodes of Once Upon A time... and enjoyed Tim tams ( apart of mum and dads gift) and the chocolate Rob bought me.

And then as a surprise he took me out for the night.
I got dressed up and we went out for dinner.

We had really hoped to be in our own place and in Lira for my birthday but the blessing of being in the city is that there are restaurants with more western foods.

As much as I like local things, it was such a treat. He took me to a few different shopping centres that are more western and we looked around and then went to a restaurant. I had yummy spaghetti bolognaise and Rob had a homemade really yummy cheeseburger and chips.

Our waiter was even a Christian – he came around with our drinks when Rob and I were deep in prayer – Rob was praying over me for my birthday and for the food and so the guy just joined in J so funny.

Was a really relaxed night, really nice just to be on our own and feel alone and free.

Sadly by end of the night I really wasn’t well again but was so thankful that I had a wonderful birthday, i had way more time with my beloved than I thought, got a few very nice gifts and had conversations with all my family.

FRIDAY

Rob is at internship intake again today and we have found out that we are APPOINTED TO ----- LIRA!!!

We got what we prayed for!

So now we move Sunday to Lira. We still do not have a place to live but we are trusting we will find something quickly.

I have spent most of the day in bed today.

Woke up feeling so much better and enjoyed breakfast and bible study with Rob before he left but not long after a really bad migraine hit me and i went to bed.

So I think I will sleep the day away as we will have a big day tomorrow purchasing the things we need to start our new life in Lira!.
